Going to Europe on the back of waters! The programme organised for Europe Day in the region of Gyomaendrőd in the near past was characterised by this apt motto. It is no accident, since this beautiful town lies along the Hármas-Körös (at the junction of the three rivers named Körös) where in the course of the river controls carried out in the reformation era clean-watered dead channels suitable for fishing, swimming and pursuing other water sports were formed. In the thermal baths located in Erzsébet grove the medicinal waters known all over the country have beneficial effect for those wishing to regain their health, and through its crystal-clear stretch of water it provides a nice rest for those longing for relaxation and recreation. The untouched nature, the clean air, the open-air swimming-pool supplied by a mineral spring, the campsites and catering establishments, the articles displayed in museums and other exhibition buildings located in the Körös-Maros National Park and in its neighbourhood to be found in the immediate vicinity of the town, as well as the more than twenty dead channels of the Hármas-Körös offer calm and peaceful relaxation for those visiting the town.

In Gyomaendrőd developing economic life and improving human living-space are in perfect harmony with the untouched nature; the atmosphere of calm in a provincial town with a vivid public, educational, cultural and sport life.

Please get acquainted with our native land, which was granted town rank 10 years ago, on our Internet home page, then also visit us to make sure that Gyomaendrőd is the gem of the Hármas-Körös, where you can find friendly, hospitable people, pleasant entertainment and advantageous economic relations.

Yours faithfully, Mayor Dr. Imre Dávid
